Android: Netrunner
A cyberpunk duel with two entirely different sides of the same card game.
What it is
A cyberpunk card game for two players who want something to get really good at. One player is a megacorporation advancing secret agendas, and the other is a hacker breaking into its servers to steal them. Both race to seven agenda points, but only the Corp's deck holds agendas. It won Best Card Game and Best Two Player Game at the 2012 Golden Geek Awards.
What we love
- The two sides play so differently that it feels like two games in one box
- The Corp hides its cards and the Runner has to guess what is worth the risk
- Null Signal Games still runs tournaments and makes new sets
Honest trade-offs
- Fantasy Flight ended the game in 2018, so older boxes differ from what Null Signal Games sells now
- Each side has its own rules to learn, which is a lot to ask of a new player
- The setting is a corporate dystopia, which suits older players
