Bang!
A spaghetti Western card game where the Sheriff wears a star and everyone else has a motive.
What it is
A Wild West shootout for 4 to 7, perfect for groups who like a bit of grudge with their cards. One player is the open Sheriff, while Deputies, Outlaws and a Renegade keep their roles hidden and shoot within weapon range. The Outlaws want the Sheriff dead, the Deputies want to protect him, and the Renegade wants to be the last one standing. A turn is simple: draw two cards, play what you can, and discard down to your life total.
What we love
- Only the Sheriff is revealed, so early shots are half guesses
- Sixteen characters with their own abilities
- Won an Origins Award for Best Traditional Card Game of 2003
Honest trade-offs
- Eliminated players can sit out for a while
- Games can overrun, with some sources listing up to 90 minutes
- Gunfights are the whole theme, though the tone is cartoonish
