Between Two Castles of Mad King Ludwig
The two-neighbor idea again, this time with strange castles and more to plan.
What it is
A castle-building game for groups who enjoy talking through a puzzle. You work with the player on your left on one castle and the player on your right on another, drafting room tiles and placing them together. Your score is the lower of your two castles, so the highest low score wins. Think of Between Two Cities at about twice the length.
What we love
- Every decision is a small negotiation with one of two partners
- Only your weaker castle counts, so you cannot play favorites
- A joint project between Stonemaier Games and Bézier Games
Honest trade-offs
- The rulebook frames it as a 3 to 7 player game, with two players as a variant
- It runs close to an hour, so it is less of a filler than Between Two Cities
