Between Two Cities
Build two cities with two different neighbors, and score only the weaker one.
What it is
A light drafting game for a crowd, and a rare one where you are partner and rival at once. You share one city with the neighbor on your left and another with the neighbor on your right, picking two tiles each turn and placing one in each. Your score is the lower of your two cities, so neither can be ignored.
What we love
- You spend the whole game talking through plans with both neighbors
- The highest low score wins, which keeps everyone honest
- Simultaneous drafting keeps it moving, even at seven
Honest trade-offs
- The in-print Essential Edition is listed at 14+ and 30 minutes, against 8+ and 25 minutes for the original
- With two players it turns aggressive and loses much of its cooperative spirit
- It is far lighter than a drafting game like 7 Wonders
