What it is

Stefan Feld's dice placement game across five islands. You roll three dice a round and place them on action spaces, but each die must be lower than any already there, so small numbers can shut rivals out. Around that sit huts, men and women tiles, priests, tasks and jewelry. It is a dense puzzle for people who like a lot of points in a lot of places.

What we love

  • Each action needs a die lower than those placed before, so a 1 can lock a spot.
  • You draft a new task each round, and each one finished is worth 6 points.
  • Men and women tiles add abilities to your board, and matching ones get stronger.

Honest trade-offs

  • Gods, priests and offerings are flavour rather than ritual, but you should know they are there.
  • Most listings say 12+, though one review lists it as 14+.
