· OUR TAKE ·

What it is

Your crew is stranded in a desert city and must find four airship parts: compass, engine, propeller and solar crystal. After each turn the storm shifts tiles, piles on sand and drains water. Everyone must reach the launch pad with all the parts, or the team loses. It suits families who have beaten Forbidden Island and want a tougher fight.

What we love

  • The board itself moves, so the route you planned may not be there next turn.
  • Each explorer tracks their own water, and one thirsty player sinks the whole team.
  • A Novice storm setting gives new groups a fair first try.

Honest trade-offs

  • Reviewers agree it is harder than Forbidden Island, and younger kids should start there.
  • Storm cards can be brutal. Two bad draws in a row can end a game fast.
  • A domineering player can turn it into a one-person game.
