Forest Shuffle
Plant trees, hang animals off them, and watch your rivals raid your discards.
What it is
A card game for two to five nature lovers who enjoy a good combo. On your turn you draw two cards or play one, paying with cards from your hand, and whatever you spend lands in a clearing your opponents can pick through. Trees anchor your forest, and split cards hang animals and plants off each side. The game stops when the third winter card appears, so the clock is never quite in your hands.
What we love
- Split cards force hard choices about what sits on each tree
- Your payments feed the clearing, which is where the sneaky interaction lives
- Won the 2024 Deutscher Spiele Preis
Honest trade-offs
- Final scoring is a slow tally of many small cards
- It takes a lot of table space for a box of cards
- A single strong card can swing the score, and new players can get overrun
