What it is

An update of Vital Lacerda's 2014 Kanban, set in a car factory that runs on lean, just-in-time ideas. You spend shifts to design electric cars, order parts, train in departments and send vehicles to the test track. Sandra, your boss, walks the floor and takes points from whoever is furthest behind on training where she stands. A heavy puzzle for people who enjoy being graded.

What we love

  • Sandra moves on a pattern you can plan around, which makes her scary rather than random.
  • Administration lets you act in any department, at a lower shift yield.
  • A solo mode by Dávid Turczi adds nine difficulty levels.

Honest trade-offs

  • A very heavy game, with many small systems to learn.
  • Listed at up to three hours. One reviewer got a three player game down to about an hour by the third try, but do not count on that at first.
  • Every action costs a shift and you get one to four a turn, so small mistakes hurt.
