Keyflower
Every worker is a bid, a tool and a bit of trouble.
What it is
Part of the Key series from R&D Games, played across four seasons. Coloured workers bid for new village tiles, and the same workers can instead be spent using a tile. Once a colour is on a tile, only that colour can follow it. In winter every tile on offer is about scoring, and it suits anyone who likes auctions with layers.
What we love
- Boats equal to the player count bring extra workers and skills, and you gain them through turn order tiles.
- Green workers cannot be drawn from the bag, so they must be earned.
- Reusing a tile takes more matching workers than the last use.
Honest trade-offs
- It seats six, but we think the time only holds if everyone keeps moving.
- The colour rules take a little while to settle in.
