Meadow
A nature walk in card form, built from overlapping cards and carefully placed path tokens.
What it is
A game for 1 to 4 people who want a calm tableau full of small wildlife. You push a numbered path token into the central board to take a card from the market, then lay a card over one in your meadow showing a matching symbol. A campfire board offers special actions and goals built from pairs of symbols. The market refreshes once, when the South deck gives way to the North deck.
What we love
- Path tokens block their space until the round ends, so the market gets tight.
- Cards overlap, so each new card costs you the symbol it covers and adds its own.
- The swap from South deck to North deck changes the second half.
Honest trade-offs
- There are a lot of symbols, which can overwhelm new players.
- Turns can stall as people rethink their options, especially at higher counts.
- Late card draws can leave some cards or goals out of reach.
