Next Station: London
Draw your own Tube map with colored pencils and a stack of station cards.
What it is
A fun game for 1 to 4 people, perfect for anyone who stares at subway maps. Each round you hold one colored pencil and extend that line as station cards flip. The pencil passes at the end of the round, and the next line has to live with the last. It was nominated for the Spiel des Jahres in 2023.
What we love
- Rounds end when the fifth pink or yellow card appears, so you never quite know how long you have.
- Crossing the Thames, reaching districts and visiting tourist sites all score.
- Optional modules add shared goals and one-use pencil powers.
Honest trade-offs
- It is close to simultaneous solitaire, with passing pencils as the only interaction.
- The single map layout can feel repetitive over time.
