· OUR TAKE ·

What it is

Every card has a vegetable on one side and a scoring rule on the other. On your turn you take one scoring card or two veggies, then you may flip a scoring card to its veggie side. When the cards run out, each goal is checked against your whole pile of vegetables. It suits groups of up to six who want a short card game with easy choices and a bit of arithmetic.

What we love

  • Two choices a turn, so new players never feel lost.
  • Flipping a goal into a vegetable is how you fix a plan that went wrong.
  • Cards come out of the deck at lower player counts, so it works from two up to six.

Honest trade-offs

  • AEG rates it 14 and up, which looks high for rules this simple.
  • Watching what others need and denying it adds thinking time to a very small game.
  • Final scoring is a long column of sums, so keep a phone handy.
