· OUR TAKE ·

What it is

Collect train cards and claim routes across Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, using tunnels and ferries along the way. Alan R. Moon built this map for two or three players, so routes stay tight even with so few people. It first came out in the Nordic countries in 2007 and reached the wider world in 2008. Perfect for couples and small households who like Ticket to Ride but rarely have four players.

What we love

  • Made for two or three, where most Ticket to Ride maps want more
  • Tunnels and ferries add risk the original USA map does not have

Honest trade-offs

  • Stops at three players, so a family of four needs another map
  • Tight routes mean more blocking, which can feel harsh with two
  • A little more card management than the base game
