Tiletum
Every die you draft sets your income and your action at once in this Renaissance trading puzzle.
What it is
A game for 1 to 4 people who like turning small choices into big combo turns. You are a merchant travelling between Tiletum and Venice, taking wool and iron contracts, building houses and pillars, and attending fairs. Each die you draft gives resources by its pips and action points by its opposite face, so a strong action means a thin purse. Good turns can score 30 or 40 points.
What we love
- One die sets both your resources and your action points.
- End-of-round fairs give your route a purpose.
- One reviewer praises the rulebook, which is not a given at this weight.
Honest trade-offs
- The box says 60 to 100 minutes, but one reviewer's three-player games ran over two hours.
- Four players can drag, so two or three is the better count.
- The board and theme are on the bland side.
